Core Learning

Our core classes provide a strong academic foundation while honoring each student’s unique learning journey. Through small-group instruction and individualized support, students build core skills with confidence and purpose.

*Your student may select two out of the three core class options.*

Math

Math is a tutoring style class where we meet each student where they are in their math journey. Our instructor, Bert Simmons, is a retired college math professor. The class will include volunteers, so students will have access to sufficient help throughout the period. If you do not have a workbook that your child/ren are currently using, you can purchase a Spectrum math book through us ($5) that your child will have available for the duration of their math studies.

The Times
That
Built Tomorrow

Step into The Times That Built Tomorrow, where curiosity leads the way and ideas take center stage. Each session explores the stories behind the inventions that shaped our world—from early innovations to modern breakthroughs—uncovering the thinkers, challenges, and moments of inspiration that brought them to life. Through discussion, exploration, and creative activities, students begin to see how one idea can evolve over time, sparking new ways of thinking and a deeper appreciation for the world around them.

Biology:
How Humans Work

Human Biology: How Humans Work is the study of the body as a living, breathing system—one where trillions of cells work together like a finely tuned (and sometimes chaotic) orchestra. It explores how we grow, move, think, heal, and survive.  At its core, it's about connection and balance—how these systems communicate, adapt, and keep everything running smoothly (even when life throws a curveball).

Creative Explorations

A space for curiosity to lead, confidence to grow, and new interests to quietly—or boldly—reveal themselves.

Creative Explorations is where curiosity gets to stretch its legs and wander a little, transforming into weekly themed experiences—each week opening the door to something entirely new. From hands-on builds to expressive arts, problem-solving challenges to sensory play, every theme is designed to spark interest and invite students to step into a different kind of learning.

This rotating format gives every child the chance to try, explore, and discover what truly lights them up—without the pressure of long-term commitment. One week might awaken a love for creating, another for experimenting, another for performing or collaborating.

Because sometimes, all it takes is one unexpected experience to uncover something they didn’t know they loved.
