Core Learning
Our core classes provide a strong academic foundation while honoring each student’s unique learning journey. Through small-group instruction and individualized support, students build core skills with confidence and purpose.

*Your student may select two out of the three core class options.*

Math
Math is a tutoring style class where we meet each student where they are in their math journey. Our instructor, Bert Simmons, is a retired college math professor. The class will include volunteers, so students will have access to sufficient help throughout the period. If you do not have a workbook that your child/ren are currently using, you can purchase a Spectrum math book through us ($5) that your child will have available for the duration of their math studies.
History, Mystery & You
History, Mystery & You is a hands-on class where students step into the role of historical detectives. Each week, we tackle a real mystery from the past using CSI-style techniques—analyzing clues, examining evidence, and piecing together timelines. With feet-in, minds-on learning, history comes alive as students think critically, collaborate, and uncover the stories history left behind.

Experiential Geography
Food, Culture, Place
Experiential Geography: Food, Culture and Place is an adventure to different parts of the world through authentically sourced food and culture with our instructor, Amanda VanKirk. Each student will get to experience an immersive look at each country throughout the semester, focusing on a different region each week.
Creative Explorations

*Your student may choose one elective from Group 1 and one elective from Group 2.*
Creative Explorations invite students to discover new interests through movement, art, and imaginative thinking. Each quarter, learners choose two electives from four rotating options, keeping experiences fresh while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and joyful self-expression.

GROUP
1
Art in Color is led by an experienced local artist, Maria Mendoza, and involves different painting techniques/styles, as well as sketching/drawing. Each student will have the opportunity to learn and develop their individual artistic style while attending this class.
OR
Improv: Imagination and Expression is an interactive class led by Kimberly Laurence who comes up with fun new activities that allow students to come up with creative responses to each prompt. The class focuses on creativity and cooperation while building a child’s confidence through humor and roleplaying.
Flavor & Function introduces students to the techniques and “why” behind everyday cooking and baking. Through hands-on practice, students experiment with ingredients to discover what makes cakes rise, cookies spread, and cream whip into soft, fluffy peaks. Guided by Alexandria Sosa, each class builds practical kitchen skills, growing confidence, and self-sufficiency, while helping students discover the joy of cooking along the way.
